On the 21st of June 2016, the girls’ senior team division three played in the final in Croke Park.  The sun was shining and with an early lead Scoil Padraig (Skerries) got many scores. The Scoil San Treasa girls didn’t give up and later in the first half Sarah got a jaw dropping goal with the help of Emma and Isobel scoring a few points. That was not an ideal first half for the SST girls but they bounced back in the second half when Megan scored a wonderful goal for SST. Scoil Padraig struggled to defend their high score at this stage. In the last few minutes Aoibhe got another breath taking goal with an assist from Megan. The game was even at this stage and the final whistle blew and extra time had begun!!!

Everyone in the crowd were biting their nails with the excitement. A few seconds into the extra time and Scoil Padraig got a point. SST were devastated, but the game wasn’t over yet. The ball came down to the Skerries goal and SST had a near goal chance but a Skerries player swept it up. Shortly afterwards the final whistle was blown and the SST players while disappointed accepted their defeat. It was a wonderful game with an excellent team performance and great thanks to Ms Timmons and Ms Breen for all of the training and preparation.
