On June 21st 2016 Scoil San Treasa won the Herald Cup Division 1 hurling final for the second year in a row. A fantastic achievement for a mixed school of its size. Treasa beat St. Colmcilles of Knockloyn in this Croke Park decider on a scoreline of 3-12 to 2-14. Shane grabbed two goals with huge contributions also on the scoreboard from Bill, Oisín and Seán.

The game was level at six points each after a nervous and tense first half but Scoil San Treasa started the second half with three quick goals in succession. In fact SST seemed to have the game won when 9 points clear with only minutes remaining but two quick-fire goals from Colmcilles kept it in the melting pot until the final whistle. Full time signalled huge celebrations from the Mount Merrion boys in what was a just reward for their year of hard work.
