Both 6th classes had the task of making a nativity crib using any materials we wanted.
We brainstormed a few ideas, such as using food, lego, cards, clay etc. We were given the project after Halloween and we had about a month to work on them before handing them in. We had to use our imaginations and be creative. People handed in a lot of interesting and creative cribs. For example one used a ‘tepee’ instead of a stable. Others were made out of jam jars, recycled cans and cotton wool. It was very enjoyable and it reminded us about the true meaning of Christmas. There are over 40 cribs on display on the corridor beside our classrooms.
Lots of other classes in the school made very nice Christmas Art creations – cards, snow globes, wreaths, giant snowflakes, snowmen, nativity pictures, stained glass windows, penguins, Christmas stories and advent calendars. Have a look at some of the art from around our school below.
