Tidy Schools
We are delighted to announce that Scoil San Treasa has been awarded a Certificate of Honours in pioneering for a clean local environment. We were awarded a certificate in 2011 when we first entered the competition. We have continued to maintain this standard resulting in similar awards in 2012 and 2013.
Judges from Dún Laoghaire Rathdown who inspected the grounds were very impressed with the general tidiness of our school. They particularly noted the obvious collaboration between pupils, staff and Parents Association. A special ‘thank you’ to Dave, our caretaker, for his unyielding care and attention to the school grounds. The judges were also impressed with our inventory of trees – this resource is available for teachers to use with their classes. This year, our trees project, ‘Caoga Bliain ag Fás’ formed an integral part of our SST550 anniversary celebrations.
Our tree inventory was compiled with the help of Mrs. Pauline Carey, one of our past staff members. It was expanded and enhanced by fourth class pupils (2012-13 & 2013-14) when they undertook the ‘Caoga Bliain ag Fás’ trees project. This will be highlighted in our aplication for the Tidy Schools Competition this year.
There is a great sense of pride in Scoil San Treasa. Keep up the good work, everyone!
