Engineers from Roughan & O’Donovan Consulting Engineers, Cathal and Rebecca, visited 5th and 6th Class this week!

They introduced us to the ins and outs of Structural Engineering and we discussed all the avenues Engineering has to offer. 

Cathal and Rebecca set us a challenge to build both a tall and structurally sound tower. Points were awarded based on height, durability and most importantly creativity. 

We had 30 minutes to turn pipe cleaners, lollipop sticks, tape and straws into a solid structure. Take a look at some of our feats!
