Annabelle’s family hand reared two lambs for a farmer in Wicklow. The lambs stayed in their shed and garden for 9 weeks. The lambs were fed four bottles of milk a day along with a little “crunch”, which was made up of barley, soya beans and also vitamins and minerals. The lambs also ate grass and plants. Annabelle brought one of the lambs to school. His name was George. We all got to pet him. Some of us got to feed him with a bottle. Annabelle showed us his funny rectangular eyes. He also had one large wide tooth in the top of his mouth. George has an excellent sense of smell and we saw his scent glands under his eyes.  We all enjoyed Annabelle’s informative presentation. It was a rewarding experience for all.
