Online Safety Week in Scoil San Treasa was held from October 6th -10th. All of the classes learned about how to be safe on the Internet.
The younger classes learned that it is important not to give any private or personal details online. We also learned that it was important to have good ‘netiquette’ – to always be polite on line. If we see or read anything that is unpleasant then we should always tell an adult. In the Senior classes we had a visit from Garda John O’ Shea from Blackrock Garda station. He showed us a video called ‘Connect with Respect’ and also told us that the best way to respond to unpleasant messages was to ‘STOP, BLOCK and TELL’. We designed some posters on Internet Safety and also talked about Cyberbullying. Garda O’Shea warned us about the dangers of putting pictures and messages on the internet – that they can never be fully deleted. Below are some pictures of Garda O Shea when he visited our class.
