Pupils in fourth class enjoyed taking a closer look at birds and other creatures in the natural world during their recent Biodiversity workshop.  Take a look at these pictures.

Their activities included:

  • an outdoor science workshop during which pupils identified and named some common Irish garden birds - by size, colour and shape
  • labelling bird body parts on diagrams, using the correct terminology
  • correctly using binoculars (free-standing and tripod-mounted) during a nature walk in Deer Park
  • spotting a very early butterfly! (Red Admiral)
  • identifying worm castings and doing a 'worm dance'.
