We have had our first Green Schools Meeting with this year's Green Schools Representatives. We discussed sustainability, recycling and the energy usage in our school. Electricity monitors have been chosen from each class to ensure each and every switch is turned off at break times, lunch times and the end of the school day.

We enjoyed participating in a whole-school Kahoot quiz to learn more about recycling too. Over the coming weeks, the Green Schools Committee will be completing some litter pick-ups to clean up our yards!

Gardening and Biodiversity Specialist Patrick Hunt has been working with 2nd to 6th classes to plant a variety of vegetables in our new planting beds in our outdoor garden. Using buckets and containers, all of the pupils in the school transported six tonnes of compost to prepare the beds. We have planted crops such as cabbage heads, onions, lettuce, spinach, potatoes, and, rocket. We will be looking after our crops until they are ready to be harvested in Spring!
