Over the past few weeks in the school we have been marking SST60 with all of the pupils in many different ways. We had a whole-school assembly in the Halla, complete with a 60th birthday cake, balloons and treats which added a party spirit to the occasion. The children lit 60 night-lights across the school stage and sang, ‘Happy Birthday, Scoil San Treasa’ which made for a magical, memorable occasion for all present.

On Friday 1st December, a whole school Mass took place in the Church of St. Therese, Mount Merrion. The Mass was attended by pupils, parents, teachers and other staff, Board of Management, Parent Association - past and present - together with long-standing friends and well-wishers from the parish and beyond. It was a lovely opportunity to reflect on and give thanks for the good work of so many over 60 years, to take delight in the present, and to look forward to the future with hope and confidence. The Entrance Procession was particularly thought-provoking, drawing our attention to the rich fabric of life in Scoil San Treasa. The school choir and orchestra added greatly to the ceremony, as they shared their musical talents and the fruits of their hard work.

Artwork and project work for all of the pupils included local history, school in the past, SST60 artwork and crests. Photographic work centered on photographs of Scoil San Treasa through the years which will be on display in the foyer for all to enjoy. Additionally, all pupils and staff assembled on the school yard in the formation of SST60 for an aerial drone photograph.  A video clip has been created with some highlights which can be accessed here. The soundtrack to the video is a recording of the school choir and orchestra.
